they’re back…
The infamous mullet has made its return to main stream Europe and has come back with striking variety. Coming in all flavors including long short, curly straight, gelled and sprayed. Quite frightening if you ask me. We attempted to capture one using the phone on our camera to show you just what type of freaky species we are dealing with but it proved imppossible to do justice to. Due to various reasons such as glare off the lense and speed walking on the part of the owner.

Dormitory
a new place
So yesterday we left our home in Paris for a new adventure in another location. We caught a train to lille in the northern most part of France bordering Belgium. From there we made our way up into the Netherlands finally stopping in Amsterdam. We went to a hostel we found online and found ourselves in an all girl dormitory with sixteen beds. A very dirty place.it seems they don’t understand the concept of taking out the trash here. Oh well. We went for a walk around the town. Dear lord I think every person I saw was under the influence of one intoxicant or another. Every souvenir store had bongs pipes pot and seeds to grow your own. We stopped staring at all of the illegal drugs and paraphenilia or however you spell it and we went and grabbed some pizza. We ate it and began to walk again. Before we knew it it was seven at night and we were in the red light district with sex for sale everywhere we turned. We went back to the hostel to find shelter from this scary place. That is when we met two new friends. (now before I get to far ahead of myself I need to mention that keelin had blogged yesterday but some how it was never posted and wasn’t saved. So sorry to leave you hanging) anyway. Our new friends. Sarah and Andy. Maybe short for Andrea. Not sure. They were two young ladies that had been dating for two years and they were around twenty one. They were very nice and after talking to them for a good hour they invited us to come out with them. We thought it sounded like fun so we went. They took us to a well known lesbian bar in Amsterdam or as they called it, the dyke bar. There were quite a few ladies there. And all were very kind. We tried a bellini which is a peach flavored champagne. It was good but could be dangerous. Apparently they don’t check Id in Amsterdam because I the lone child was allowed to do everything my eighteen year old friends did. After spending a good couple of hours at the bar and meeting a couple new people including one that had fought in the Lebanon war. Intense stuff right there. So we hung out with the girls for the rest of the night around the city and made our way back to the hostel a little before two. This morning we awoke at nine for breakfast which was very fulfilling. We decided that Amsterdam was a one night type of place so we packed our bags said goodbye to our friends and were off to the train station. We are now currently on our way through the Netherlands hoping to end up somewhere in the south of France before the days end. So tonight Margaret will be blogging informing all of you of where we end up. Have a lovely day.
